Management structure

Project Director (Coordinator) – Prof. Rosanna Tarricone
Rosanna Tarricone, is the coordinator of the project and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the project meets all its objectives, on time and within budget. The Project Director will be supported by the Deputy Project Director, the Administrative Manager and the accounting unit of University Bocconi.

Rosanna Tarricone, MSc, PhD, is Associate Professor in Healthcare Management at Bocconi University. She is the Director of CERGAS and professor at SDA Bocconi University School of Management. Her main areas of research include health economics and economic analysis of health care interventions and technologies, including  medical devices and genetic tests. Prof. Tarricone is Scientific Director of the European Health Technology Institute for socio-economic research (EHTI). Prof. Tarricone is also a member of the International Association of Health Economics (IHEA), the International Health Technology Assessment (HTAi) organisation, and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research (ISPOR).

Project Scientific Advisor – Prof. Mike Drummond
He will provide his expertise for ensuring the scientific quality of all aspects of the project.

Michael Drummond, BSc, MCom, DPhil is Professor of Health Economics and former Director of the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York: he will be Senior Visiting Researcher at CERGAS for the whole project duration His particular field of interest is in the economic evaluation of health care treatments and programmes.  He has undertaken evaluations in a wide range of medical fields including care of the elderly, neonatal intensive care, immunization programmes, services for people with AIDS, eye health care and pharmaceuticals.  He is the author of two major textbooks and more than 600 scientific papers, and he has been President of the International Society of Technology Assessment in Health Care, and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.

Deputy Project Director – Prof. Aleksandra Torbica
She will support the Project Director and Project Scientific Advisor with their responsibilities and tasks.

Aleksandra Torbica, MSc, PhDis Assistant Professor at the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management and Research Fellow at CERGAS, Bocconi University. She is Director of the Master of International Healthcare Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP) at SDA Bocconi University School of Management. Her main areas of research include economic evaluation of healthcare technologies/programmes, use of economic evaluation and health technology assessment at different levels of decision making, costing methodology of health care services, quantitative methods in economic evaluation analysis and HTA. Prof. Torbica is a member of the International Association of Health Economics (IHEA) and the Secretary General of Italian Health Economics Association.

Administrative Manager
Administrative manager takes care of the communication within and outside the consortium and makes sure that all requests and deadlines are met. He/she will be responsible for monitoring project timelines and progress, preparing documentation for reporting, reviewing deliverables reports, ensuring that they are submitted in a timely manner.

Project Steering Committee: Project Director, Project Scientific Advisor, Deputy Project Director, WP leaders and Administrative Manager
The Steering Committee will be the principal vehicle to exchange views between project partners, and specifically between WP leaders, the Project Scientific Advisor and the Project Director. The Project Steering Committee will be the highest decision-making body in the project responsible for all research-related decisions

Advisory Board
The main role of the Advisory Board is to provide advice and quality assurance for the project, but also to ensure that the potential impact on HTA development in the EU can be realised in practice and can effectively respond to the needs of different stakeholders, improve their knowledge and decision-making processes. 
The members are:

  2. Aldo Maggioni –Research Centre of the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO), Director, Italy
  3. Pascale Brasseur – Chair of the HTA Working Group at Eucomed
  4. David Paltiel, Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Administration, Yale School of Public Health, Yale University, USA
  5. Kristian Lampe - Coordinator of the Work Package 4 of the  EUnetHTA and medical officer at the Finnish Office for Healthcare Technology Assessment (FinOHTA), Finland
